For the last two weeks we have been learning about Animals! The kids have gone crazy about the art projects I found on Deanna Jump's Blog. (Her unit available on Teacher's Pay Teacher's)

We have learned about African animals, created Venn diagrams for Zebra's and Giraffes (Also from the blog listed) and have created the cutest art projects!!

Started learning about syllables this week...loved this idea! The kids really were able to grasp syllables by saying the word aloud and then closing their mouth and saying it ahead with their mouth closed. By doing this they were able to count the sounds that they heard and thus count the syllables! Thanks to my 2nd grade teacher-friend Sue for this fantastic idea!!! :)

Next week we're going into Ocean Animals...I love how each day the kids try to guess what we are going to learn about. They never tire of bringing pictures of frogs to my attention (they know I'm scared to death of them). Love my kiddos.
